Here and there we receive  bug reports that state "I've had this issue for almost a year now!". Sometimes it's just a few months or weeks.

Usually I just ಠ_ಠ at that, maybe (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻) if it's a serious problem that makes me wonder how the reporter put up with it for so long, but then I just ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and get on with handling the ticket.

But seriously, if you encounter a technical problem on deviantART, do not wait weeks or months or even a year! You don't have to do that and you shouldn't.
However, it's alright to wait a day, if you wanna see if you can fix the problem yourself, or if it might magically go away by itself, which does happen sometimes (often in the not so magical form of browser cache or cookies flushing).

So, if you got a problem with using the website, don't wait and just report it.

Sometimes you don't know you have an issue until it has gone a while, right? Or a member might not use dA every day. Do they not get equal help?

A technical issue is a technical issue, whether it's with the website or with the reporters' browser, computer or internet connection and no matter how long the issue has been there. Sometimes deviants and administrators by sheer chance come across an obscure issue that has been there for ages and nobody else ever encountered or at least not reported. Those get fixed too.
Everybody gets equal help.

However I was very clearly referring to reporters who do notice something out of the ordinary with the website, and wait a long time to report it.

Expecting that deviants report issues they have not noticed or when they don't use the website would be unrealistic, so we don't do that.

Perhaps they waited hoping that it would solve itself? Perhaps they are not too good with English? Perhaps they have put up with the issue for so long because dA's other channels of reporting has failed to even produce a response, so why bother? I'm sure there are reasons. It's not a member's job to report stuff anyway, so I just don't think it's right to expect them to report everything. That's the impression I got from this journal. Although I'm sure that was not the intention.

Whenever there's a bug, I'm just like ಠ_ಠ ....
Then I get distracted by something else, and it's all like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Then I'm browsing dA some more :happybounce:
Then the bug comes back again ಠ_ಠ ... ಥ_ಥ
